This is just a really quick post to say how lovely the day has been today. It’s the 21st October, the leaves are changing colour and falling, the evenings are getting chillier and it’s dark by half past six. Yet today the sun shone, the sky is a glorious shade of blue and it has been so warm.
We have still got beautiful roses, mallow and sweet peas blooming in the garden, so we are mainly green with a subtle hint of pink every now and again. I was able to cut the grass – which has also tidied the garden because the lawnmower acted as a hoover for all the fallen leaves – double bonus!
I moved a conifer slightly towards the house as it was in the part of the garden they want to build a house on. They are taking back the garden – they’re not going to have all our plants too πββοΈ
Once I had finished this, I made myself a lovely cup of tea and sat in the garden to drink it and relax, obviously every now and again attempting to throw a tennis ball up the garden for the dog. Iβve resigned myself to the fact that my arms are not designed for throwing and I am never going to make it into the Olympic team for javelin, discus, shotput or hammer.
Our cat just mooched around, laying half in the sun and half in the shade, relaxing in the garden and surveying her territory as cats do.
Dinner is now in the oven and I think I might be brave and watch The Haunting of Hill House, while it’s still light. I don’t know about you but I can watch spooky programmes and films during the day but at night time when it’s dark they scare the living daylights out of me.
What a lovely way to spend a Sunday.
Aww. That sounded so relaxing, darling.

Thank you, the cutting the grass was a bit tiring but very rewarding! π

This sounded like the most perfect day Fiona! You garden looks so pretty and it is nice to be able to enjoy a relaxing cup of tea in the sunshine with your pets too. The weather has been so nice recently, we need to make the most of it. Ooh, I’ve heard about The Haunting of Hill House but haven’t seen it, I think I need to check it out, I like the sound of a spooky programme. Lovely post, thank you for sharing β€ xx
